Second Best

College is a time to shine. You work so hard in high school to be the best, allowing you to move on at the college you dream about.
Talent is however, spread around the country. Overwhelming, yes. We lead our lives by example, expectation, and hope.
Example for everyone following after us. Younger classmates and siblings typically watch in awe. You know that you have looked up to those elders in the past...watching them doing what you longed to do.
Expectation to achieve what you know that you can accomplish. You know your worth, whether you see it or not. There is a difference between being cocky, and understanding what you are good at. Therefore the expectations are higher with things .
Hope is there because everything in life is really the roll of a dice. There are so many factors as to whether something will or won’t work. So we need hope that everything will work out the way that we want it to; the way we are forcing it to.
With these three elements making up the force as to why we work so hard, it is a heart crushing feeling when we get placed to the side on the verge of making out dreams come true.
You were first chair for the last three years in high school and won state competitions. Being a teacher’s pet became all to easy, because you tried so hard to be the best. And you did it. Senior year, there was no one even close to your level.
There are colleges for all of the elite class of the number one high school stars. Then there are colleges that know these  second place kids won’t come even close to the radar of others. So they give them the opportunity to shine. Athletic example: Brett Favre went to Southern Miss University and Aaron Rodgers  went to Butte Community College before we went on to a Division 1 school. Both are considered some of the best quarterbacks that the NFL as ever seen. Both went to sub par schools, even with their incredible talent.
Don’t let someone tell you that you aren’t good enough.  When a door closes, don’t shut yourself in a closet, jump out the window! Being second doesn’t mean you are last place. It means you are a part of an group of outstanding musicians and you are still going to shine. IA
