Packing has never seemed more important. Outfit upon outfit line the comforter draped across the bed. Cute tank tops to match a mini skirt or cut-off shorts, different colored flip flops for each ensemble, and a sundress all need to be taken into consideration.
But what if it gets cold at night or it rains? Better pack jeans and a sweatshirt too, just to be on the safe side, you think to yourself.
Glancing at the check list, you see sunscreen, sunglasses, bandages, bread, snacks, water, make-up, tampons, brush. The essentials. Dropping your deodorant in the duffle bag, you take your purse and head for the liquor store. Stocking up is a must when it comes to summer music festivals.
When all is said and done you end up with more alcohol than anything else. The cooler is set, the duffle and liquor are packed. Now for a sleeping bag and pillow. No need to be comfy there, you will just crash where you pass out after the festivities of the night have subsided.
The drive takes forever to get into the grounds parking lot. Wishing you were drinking with friends who are already there and possess a good buzz by now, you text them impatiently that you will be there soon.
At the campsite before you even unpack, you open the cooler and grab a cold one. The rush of the hops in the malty beverage wash over your tongue. This is going to be a good night.
The extended weekend that you have been waiting for all year, is finally here. A tradition since you were sixteen years old. The best days of your life have been at this festival. A vacation with close friends, cold drinks, and spectacular music all rolled into one great experience. What more could one ask for?
